Our common areas include a library, living room with a large television, dining room, an activity room with a games table, pool table and a piano. We also have a beauty salon/barbershop on site and an outdoor patio space.
Studio bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The bedrooms have a large double door closet with shelving system, a smaller linen closet and a large private bathroom with a sit-down shower, mirrored medicine cabinet, vanity and storage shelves.
Our services include:
- Meal Planning done by our trained cooks accommodates dietary needs for residents with diabetes, we pride ourselves on providing heart smart meals and do our best to accommodate the likes and dislikes of our residents.
- Three meals daily.
- Tea stations offer homemade snacks, fruits, and drinks on a self-serve basis throughout the day.
- Weekly housekeeping and separate laundry per suite.
- Recreation and social programs seven days a week.
- Local pharmacy offers free delivery twice a day as well as a free medication dispense service.
- Low cost Handy Dart transportation available upon approval.
- Small pets are welcome with pre approval by management. You’ll need to sign a pet agreement and provide a nominal pet damage deposit.
The Residence has 24-hour Staffing and a Call Bell System. Each suite and all common areas are equipped with fire alarms; smoke detectors; sprinklers and there is emergency lighting in the hallways. Common areas have handrails and are wheelchair accessible. The Hospital and local shopping area are within walking distance.
How does Norman Manor Senior Homes define Independent Living?
The Independent Living environment at Norman Manor is designed for self-sufficient individuals seeking a comprehensive package of household management services. Private rooms and bath are available in various sizes and include weekly housekeeping and laundry service. Residents also receive three meals per day as part of the basic package. Other options such as in-room telephone and cable service are also available for a nominal fee.
How does Norman Manor Independent Living differ from Assisted Living?
Independent living residents must be able to dress, groom and bathe themselves without any assistance from staff. All medications prescribed or otherwise, must be self-administered without intervention or supervision from Norman Manor staff. Home support can be obtained by the Resident through the local health authority for Residents requiring minimal support with these daily tasks.

Independent Living residents are able to benefit from the companionship and camaraderie offered by fellow residents. Every resident is encouraged to become a willing and active member of our community by participating in a variety of planned activities on-site.
