Red Deer, AB, – [January 6, 2026] – Optima Living is proud to recognize Shelley Dalueg, General Manager at Optima’s Deer Park Village community, for her nomination in the Individual category of the 2024–2025 Alberta Minister’s Seniors Service Awards, presented by the Government of Alberta.

Shelley leads her team with unwavering compassion and a deep commitment to inclusivity, fostering a vibrant community where every resident feels empowered, valued, and truly at home. Her leadership reflects Optima Living’s core values of dignity, respect, collaboration, and doing the right thing—principles she brings to life every day.

“Shelley’s commitment to residents, team members, and the broader community reflects the very best of who we are as an organization,” said Angela Grottoli, Chief Operating Officer at Optima Living. “This nomination is a meaningful recognition of the care, integrity, and leadership she brings to Deer Park Village every day.”

When asked about her guiding philosophy, Shelley shared, “Just keep doing what you love. If it doesn’t feel like work, you’re in the right place,” a sentiment that resonates within the culture she has built for both residents and team members.

Outside of her role at Optima Living, Shelley extends her passion for service into the broader community. She actively volunteers with the Golden Circle Seniors Resource Centre, the Rotary Club of Red Deer, and the Coordinated Community Response to Elder Abuse—initiatives that promote seniors’ safety, engagement, and well-being. Through these efforts, Shelley makes a lasting difference for seniors, well beyond Deer Park Village and throughout Alberta.

The Alberta Minister’s Seniors Service Awards celebrate individuals, businesses, and organizations that make outstanding contributions to seniors’ quality of life through volunteerism, advocacy, and innovation. Shelley’s nomination reflects her passion for enriching the lives of residents and building communities rooted in care and connection.
