Surrey, BC – February 10, 2026 – Optima Living is proud to announce that we have been selected as the official management partner for Guru Nanak Diversity Village—a new 125-bed long-term care community in Surrey, British Columbia designed to meet the cultural and social needs of South Asian seniors.

Guru Nanak Diversity Village is currently being developed by Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS), a non-profit organization that has served diverse communities across B.C. since 1987. The community is purpose-built to honour cultural identity, language, and tradition within a respectful and inclusive care environment, and is expected to welcome its first residents in early 2027.

“We believe that exceptional care starts with understanding the people and cultures we serve,” said Farid Damji, Co-Founder and Principal of Optima Living. “We are honoured to help PICS bringGuru Nanak Diversity Village to life, and to support the delivery of culturally responsive care and a community built on dignity, respect, and belonging.”

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to community stewardship, best-in-class operations, and working together to provide dignified housing and care to British Columbia’s seniors.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Optima Living, a leader in the delivery of seniors care in Western Canada,” said Satbir Singh Cheema, President and Chief Executive Officer, Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society. “Their commitment to values-based and person-centred care makes them an ideal partner as we bring the Guru Nanak Diversity Village to life, and we look forward to the knowledge and experience they’ll bring to our residents.”

Guru Nanak Diversity Village represents a significant investment in meeting the evolving needs of Surrey’s seniors. Through this partnership, PICS and Optima Living remain dedicated to delivering a safe, high-quality, culturally informed, and resident-centred community that reflects and supports the diversity of the region.
