This Chapter? I Call it Life Falling Into Place

A World Full of Wonder

“A good day is I get up in the morning, I can still smell coffee, I can make breakfast. That is a good day.”

Growing Up in Sangudo

“I grew up in a little village called Sanguda. And that is about 100 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.”

“A little community at that time, maybe 200 or so residents.”

“Nice river going by and the river was absolutely beautiful to swim in in the summertime.”

“Kids are kids. We used to do a lot of different things. Climb trees or get into trouble.”

Discovering a Passion

“I had a real passion later on for electronics.”

“We did take some courses through the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.”

“That gave you the right to operate on all the amateur frequencies that are available.”

Conversations Across the World

“One year that I was talking and the conversation was with the Saudi king, he was on the air.”

“There were doctors, lawyers, there were archeologists.”

The Things That Matter Most

“I think I raised two children that are doing very well.”

“I’ve had fairly good rapport with other people.”

“We have gone overseas. So we did travel a bit.”

“Generally, I’m happy to be here.”

“I think a lot of things I’ve learned is to respect one another.”

“If we don’t respect our neighbours, and we don’t respect our colleagues, we’re in big trouble.”

What Keeps Him Engaged

“I do a lot of listening on the history channels.”

“There’s some very interesting programs on the pyramids, ancient aliens, extraterrestrials, you name it.”

“I usually read quite a bit of technical information.”

“I do donate to Wikipedia. It’s a good source of information.”

“One of my passions was I used to fly model airplanes too at one time.”

“We did have lots of fun. Building and destroying them.”

Looking Ahead

“My doctor said, I want to keep you going till 100 years old.”

“You have to live it as a day at a time. Take the best, don’t look back at your faults or anything else, but you look ahead and you always dream of what’s coming forward.”

“You’ve always got to think positively.”
