In 2007, two longtime friends and healthcare professionals, Karim Kassam and Farid F. Damji, dreamed of a better way to care for seniors. Having watched their own parents and grandparents age with dignity and love, they felt called to extend that same level of care to others. Over a cup of coffee and a restaurant napkin, the foundation for Optima Living was born—a community built not just with bricks but with heart.
A community built with heart
Turning compassion into community
What began as a vision soon became reality. In 2015, with the addition of Ali Shivji as principal, our leadership team expanded, along with our reach. Today, Optima Living is proud to offer high-quality senior living communities across Western Canada, including Independent Living, Assisted & Supportive Living, Memory Living, and Long-Term Care options tailored to every need.
Everything we do begins with heart
At Optima Living, everything we do begins with heart. Our Mission and Values guide the way we care for residents, support families, and grow together as communities. We believe that every senior deserves to live in a place where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
