VANCOUVER, BC — Optima Living has earned the prestigious Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Three-Year Accreditation for five of its long-term care communities. Meeting 100% of nearly 200 accreditation standards, Optima Living achieved this distinction with no recommendations for improvement—a distinction achieved by only 3% of all CARF-accredited organizations and a validation of Optima’s commitment to person-centred care.
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, ensuring that service providers meet internationally recognized standards of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
"This achievement is an indication of Optima Living’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life of persons served. Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of conformance to standards,” wrote Brian Boone, President and CEO, CARF Canada.
The accreditation decision represents the highest level of recognition that can be given to an organization and shows Optima Living’s significant conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has gone through a rigorous peer-review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors, during an on-site visit, its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
In addition to achieving 100% conformance standards in its quest for CARF accreditation, Optima Living was also recognized for showcasing leading practices in several areas. This included Optima Living’s guiding North Star principle of “Let Us Welcome You Home.” This philosophy is used in every decision point and in every community guiding us in creating a healthy, meaningful life for residents.
Feedback from residents expressed satisfaction with life in Optima Living communities; being grateful for the sense of community and belonging they experienced; and their enjoyment of the social events, food, and continuous communication with staff.
“We will continue to lead the way in providing exceptional quality care for seniors,” said Farid Damji, Co-Founder & Principal at Optima Living. “This achievement represents our dedication to creating safe, supportive homes where seniors can thrive.”
“Our success is a testament to the incredible team at Optima Living and the passion they bring to their work every day,” added Damji. “We are grateful for the trust placed in us by residents and their families and will remain committed to delivering the highest standards of care in all that we do.”
The accreditation report noted residents, employees, and other stakeholders expressed high satisfaction with the organization. The highly educated and experienced leadership team is devoted to the organization and invested in its services, as evidenced by the culture it fosters and the practices that showcases its mission to provide home-style living for seniors by enabling each resident to experience a full and independent lifestyle.
