A taste of togetherness Spring Open House campaign creative

On April 18, 2026, Optima Living senior living communities proudly opened their doors for our Spring Open House, inviting seniors, families, and guests to experience the warmth, connection, and home-like lifestyle that make our communities feel like home.

A Taste of Togetherness

This year’s theme: A Taste of Togetherness.

At Optima, we know that every shared meal has the power to bring people closer, because we see it every day in our dining rooms. A Taste of Togetherness was an invitation to experience the warmth, laughter, and sense of belonging that defines life for our residents from Victoria to Medicine Hat, and at Optima Living communities in between.

At our senior living residences across British Columbia and Alberta, visitors gathered to experience our communities as places where friendships flourish, stories are shared, and everyone is always welcome at the table.

This year, Optima Living’s independent living communities in both British Columbia and Alberta participated in Open House, welcoming nearly 900 guests to taste the lifestyle our current residents already enjoy.

“At Optima Living, we don’t use the word retirement residence, because our residents aren’t retiring from anything,” explains Director of Sales Strategy, Heather Collingridge. “When someone is welcomed into an Optima Living community, we support them jump into their next chapter. And for many of our residents, it’s their best chapter yet.

Experience Hospitality Excellence at Optima Living

With close to 900 guests showing up to get a taste of what their next chapter may look, feel, and taste like at Optima, our teams were busy in the days leading up to the event, preparing finger foods from scratch, plating colourful fruit platters, and filling our communities with the sweet smell of fresh baking.

Our teams were also on-hand to help our guests get a feel for the Optima Way – that special feeling when you walk into an Optima Living community and experience the warmth of the people, the friendly smiles, and the sense of belonging.

Home is not just a place; it’s a feeling. And at our twice annual Open House, we want to share that feeling with you.

A Double Celebration at Westsyde Landing in Kamloops, B.C.

The timing of the event also created the perfect opportunity for Westsyde Landing in Kamloops, B.C., to celebrate its Grand Reopening alongside Open House Day.

With a double celebration happening, Community Relations Coordinator Christine Wheeler welcomed a local intergenerational brass band to perform, bringing incredible energy to the day, and reflecting the intergenerational programming that makes up life at Westsyde Landing. Residents, volunteers, families, and guests clapped along to the music, and a few even kicked up their heels for a dance as the sounds of big band classics filled the community.

Nothing makes people feel more at home than the people we cherish and the meals we share together.

At Optima Living, we believe seniors deserve to live fully, comfortably, and independently in a place where they feel cared for, connected, and truly at home. During our Taste of Togetherness Spring Open House, we invited guests to experience what home feels like at Optima.
