Optima Living Newsletter March 2022

Posted on March 23rd, 2022

Our communities are filled with incredible women who do incredible things! We celebrated International Women’s Day by recognizing the many women who work hard to make our communities places that residents can proudly call home. We are so grateful for every single one of you!

It is good to see COVID cases decreasing in both Alberta and British Columbia! As both provinces begin reducing measures, we encourage everyone to stay the course and be mindful of the regulations put forth.

With all these continuing changes, we are moving forward with cautious optimism and hold kindness as a key part of that positivity. As the late Betty White once said, “Kindness and consideration of somebody besides yourself—I think that keeps you feeling young. I really do.” We couldn’t agree more.

Stay Safe. Be Well. Take Care.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

At Wild Rose, we had a St. Patrick's Day Pub to celebrate all things Irish! Louis read over 100 limericks and two Irish residents blessed us by singing Irish ballads. Residents had fun putting on costume pieces including hats and leprechaun beards. Chef Scott prepared an entire Irish-themed menu, including a steak and Guinness pie for dinner. We had Irish trivia and read some popular Irish blessing and poetry. Of course, we had a full drinks menu for some traditional libations.

Sushi Making Demo at Wisteria Place

There is something so satisfying about learning a new skill and then getting to enjoy the fruit of your labour!

Residents at Wisteria Place had so much fun making their own sushi. Once they selected their choice of ingredients, residents were taught how to make both uramaki and nigiri sushi.
