Turning Passion into Contribution
at Optima Living

Welcome to the first of our new
Team Member Spotlight
series!
This month, we focus on David Burns of
The Hamlets at Penticton.
David works in maintenance, but he’s an
artist at heart. His hidden talents were
discovered when he was asked to paint
the walls of The Hamlets in the summer
of 2019.
He was initially asked to paint the
walls a light blue to look like the sky,
while the Director of Care would look
for local artists to volunteer to do the
murals. When they didn’t find anyone,
David volunteered.

November is not just a month of falling
leaves and crisp autumn air—it's a time
to raise awareness about a condition
that affects millions of seniors
worldwide: osteoporosis. At Optima
Living, we're dedicated to the health
and well-being of our residents, and
that's why we want to shine a spotlight
on National Osteoporosis Month and raise
awareness.

Wisteria Place is constantly working on
learning new skills, including creating
new types of art! Recently they made
dream catchers, rain makers, and created
new paintings.

The Hamlets at Penticton received
special permission to visit Alice the
Dinosaur who stands at 22 feet high and
50 feet long, and weighs 12,000 pounds!
One of their care team also dressed up
as a dinosaur to help load the bus. It
was a very fun day!
