The Director, Technology will oversee the full software and hardware budget, lead IT governance and infrastructure planning, and ensure the organization’s systems and cybersecurity posture are robust enough to support continued growth. The successful candidate will be a proactive gatekeeper for software usage and procurement, a champion for best-in-class solutions, and a hands-on leader for desktop support and insourcing opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities 


Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with Optima Living’s mission, values and growth objectives.

  • Lead IT governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies, SOX and external regulations.

  • Create and maintain an infrastructure roadmap that supports scalability, reliability, and innovation.

  • Utilize leading and relevant AI, automation, and data analytics technologies to drive the Optima Intelligence strategy.

  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to support enterprise initiatives and digital transformation.

Budget & Procurement Oversight

  • Own the full software and hardware budget, including forecasting, cost optimization, and vendor negotiations.

  • Serve as the gatekeeper for all software usage and purchases, ensuring alignment with business needs and security standards.

  • Introduce and implement best-in-class software solutions where appropriate. Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Lead the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, including risk management and ensuring systems and data are protected against evolving threats.

  • Implement and monitor security protocols, incident response plans, and employee awareness programs.

Operational Leadership

  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of responsiveness and technical excellence.

  • Identify and execute insourcing opportunities to improve service delivery and reduce costs.

  • Design an organization structure that can support all software including Yardi and Dayforce system administration in-house

  • Ensure optimal functionality of all IT and communications systems at support offices and within the communities

  • Oversee device lifecycle management, including requisition, deployment, and retirement in accordance with internal policies 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally in healthcare, senior living, or multi-site operations.

  • Proven track record in budgeting, vendor management, cybersecurity, and infrastructure planning.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments and levels.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
