Leader of Optima Living’s seniors’ community receives Community Hero Award

(Hope, B.C.) In late September, Mark Strahl, MP for Chilliwack-Hope presented Virginia Roberts, General Manager of Riverside Manor, with a Community Hero Award for her excellent work during the pandemic.

As the senior leader for Riverside Manor, a 34- person seniors independent and assisted living community in Hope, British Columbia, Ms. Roberts manages the overall operation. Starting in March 2020, she and her staff have worked diligently, following public health guidelines and implementing safeguards, to protect the health and safety of residents.

“You were nominated to receive this award by a fellow citizen for the work you have done for others during the COVID-19 pandemic,” explained MP Mark Strahl. “Thank you for going above and beyond to make our community a better place during this challenging time. You have made a difference in the lives of the people who live here.”

Ms. Roberts is extremely grateful that the community appreciates the work going on at Riverside Manor during the pandemic. “The work I do every day is only possible because of the wonderful staff I have working alongside me who are totally committed to the health and safety of all our residents,” she said.
