Whether it’s painting, knitting,
gardening, or playing a musical
instrument, hobbies can
activate different areas of the
brain, promoting cognitive stimulation
and emotional wellness. At Optima
Living, we understand the importance

The Importance of Bone
Health

October 20th was World Osteoporosis
Day!
Osteoporosis is a common condition
that weakens bones and increases
fracture risk, particularly among
older adults. Prevention—focusing on
education, regular exercise, and a
nutritious diet to enhance bone
health—is crucial in managing
osteoporosis.
At Optima Living, we strive to
advocate for prevention strategies and
support individuals in maintaining
strong, healthy bones across all
stages of life.

We are thrilled to announce
that Optima Living's
communities across British
Columbia and Alberta came
together in an incredible
show of generosity this past
August and September,
contributing a
record-breaking 30,000
pounds of food to local food
banks. Over the course of a
45-day donation drive, our

We had so much fun
transforming foam pumpkins
into decoupage masterpieces.
With a bit of glue,
colourful paper, and a lot
of creativity, we turned
ordinary pumpkins into
festive fall masterpieces.
From spooky to autumn chic,

Earlier this month, Deanna, a
member of our recreation team,
and Theresa, one of our
residents, set up an in-house
café with coffee and cookies
for all to enjoy. Later,
residents spent the afternoon
in an art session with a local
artist. We couldn't have asked
for a better day.
